Josep Domingo-Ferrer is a Distinguished Professor of Computer Science at Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Tarragona. UNESCO Chair in Data Privacy. M. Sc. (1988) and Ph. D. (1991) in Computer Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. M. Sc. in Mathematics. In 2018 he founded CYBERCAT-Center for Cybersecurity Research of Catalonia. Research interests
His research interests are in information security and privacy-enhancing technologies, in particular anonymization and statistical disclosure control. Furthermore, he also works on value-centric cybersecurity and on explainable artificial intelligence. His work revolves around reconciling security, privacy, transparency and efficiency in the information society. He has co-authored 5 patents and over 419 publications (H-index=55, Feb. 17, 2019). He has chaired 18 international conferences. He is a co-editor-in chief of “Transactions on Data Privacy” and an associate editor in several journals. He has co-ordinated the H2020 project “CLARUS”, the CONSOLIDER “ARES team on security and privacy, the EU FP5 project “CO-ORTHOGONAL”, the “CO-UTILITY” project (Templeton Foundation), as well as several Spanish funded and U.S. funded research projects. He regularly engages in technology transfer to the IT industry.
