My research targets issues at intersections between philosophy of mind and action, philosophy of psychology and neuroscience, and ethics. I have published two books and over 60 articles and chapters (22 of them co-authored) in philosophy, and in disciplines adjacent to philosophy. This research has been supported by various grants and fellowships: a Wellcome Trust Fellowship while I was at Oxford, an Azrieli Global Scholar fellowship from CIFAR while I was at Carleton University, an ERC Starting Grant at Universität de Barcelona, and currently a grant from Templeton World Charity Foundation, Inc., at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
Research interests
My current research grows from work on agency and control, leading to an interest in the ways we manage to produce creative cognition and action; this interest led to a new research project, funded by the Templeton World Charity Foundation, on creative cognition. In the future, I plan to begin research on the nature and psychological architecture of creativity, and the socio-normative significance of our creative practices.
